ANSI A326.3 Standard!
New STF risk standard that increases the requirement of brands, dealerships, architects, builders, and flooring contractors to use the right product for the environment of use.
This standard has (3) metrics that must be addressed:
- Users, specifiers, builders, and flooring contractors are to measure the environment of use to make sure that the appropriate tile material is used in these areas.
- There is a higher DCOF (dynamic coefficient of friction) standard for areas exposed to greater risk. These environments are service drive, workshop, detailing, back of house, locker rooms, and oil-lube service facilities. The greater the exposure to oils, grease, moisture, and the elements, the higher the higher DCOF (dynamic coefficient of friction) rating required of the tile surface you are selecting for use.
- Note: European R-ratings have no agency, cross-reference, or use with the ANSI standard, only US standards are used to measure the surfaces compliance with this new standard.
- The tile manufacturer you choose must meet these higher requirements and declare that their product is appropriate for the environment of use. Manufacturers are required to declare that their product is appropriate for the environment of use in addition to meeting the DCOF standard. Meeting the DCOF standard is not sufficient for use in these environments, the manufacturer must declare that they are appropriate for use. The good news is that AutoStoneUSA meets these standards for your automotive dealership.

Product Use Category 4.1.3 Interior Wet Plus (IW+)
eShop2USA IW+ is a medium traction surface. This product conforms to ANSI A326 and is designated rated: IW+, or for Interior Wet Plus conditions. For interior wet plus applications there should be good drainage. Floors walked on when wet should be level, maintained and free of standing water or other contaminants. Should be cleaned with frequent maintenance to keep clean.
Manage STF Environmental Risk
AutoStone proposes our eShop2USA as one of our three workshop floor systems for service drive and workshop facilities. This service and workshop floor system has been successfully installed in a number of various dealership locations where dealers love the STF benefits, which reduce their exposure to customer and employee injury in the service drive and/or workshop.
Permanent Sealant Resists Permanent Stains
AutoStone’s brightfinish ultra-cleanable technology surface finish is an optional surface finish option. The brightfinish resists permanent stains and assists in the removal of grout residue during installation and aids cleaning practices. The brightfinish will deliver brighter, fresher, and cleaner showroom environments.
Medium Traction Surface Rating
Brand programs encourage making your service facility viewable to the customer. Industry research indicates that professional-looking, clean and tidy service departments improve CSI ratings while enhancing brand perception. AutoStone provides you the best floor system which can deliver a beautiful, durable and clean appearing facility. Your shop is an extension of your showroom, because each positive customer experience leads to increased service revenue and future vehicle sales. AutoStone delivers permanence, performance and appearance.
AutoStone Aids Dealership
The reality of an automotive service facility is that dealers conduct business on floors that have contaminants tracked in by vehicles throughout the day. This increases STF (slip, trip, fall) risk exposure. Employees and customers are constantly exposed to these STF conditions which if not properly managed can lead to workplace injuries, litigation, and higher general liability insurance premiums. The question for a dealership is, “what is the best floor surface to address the reality of STF risk we face in the service drive and workshop space?” We suggest you talk with AutoStone to find a better solution to address and reduce STF risk.
Chain-Rake QC Floor Testing
Eliminate Latent Installation Defects During Installation
Ask about the AutoStone “Chain-Rake” QC (quality control) process to assure that your workshop project delivers a lifetime of performance, function, and beauty. When it comes an automotive industrial floor, one of the risks ownership faces is latent warranty issues related to cracked-and-broken tile.
You can’t see if a tile is fully bonded to the substrate – but you CAN hear it!
When successfully implemented this QC process eliminates most future latent warranty issues that result in cracked/broken tile. Cracked/broken tile usually happens due to insufficient thin set applied to the back of the tile. This QC process helps identify those issues before the flooring contractor has left the project, so a fully bonded floor is realized, and future warranty issues are identified during the installation process.
